This Forum Is A Great Idea
Why,you ask?
1)First of all,why weren`t these trucks represented before? After all, they wrote the GM truck book that all others learned from. 2)There needs to be some place to teach/learn more on these. The older they are the harder info is to find. This sight is the single greatest source of GM truck info in the world. It just makes sense. 3)It will help the site draw in my "antique truck" guys.Definitely good for this site. 4)It will bring in the true hot rodders.Definitely good for this site. 5)These things are frikken awesome!!! Tell your friends.Tell owners at shows.Talk about it on other sites. If we can make this stick it will only become better, just like other year forums that were dead at first and now have their regulars.

Re: This Forum Is A Great Idea
I have a 39 that I haven't done anything with yet. I probably won't really start anything until the 53 is done. But, hopefully I'll get some inspiration here. I'm also hoping maybe this will get us some true "rat-rod" discussions going here. I know not everybody likes 'em, but I love 'em.

I couldn't agree more. It is a very much needed addition to the forum.

Just look at the activity here in only a very few days! Once the old timers (oops, like...well, ME!) over at Stovebolt find out this forum has been added here, they'll be in regularly.

Re: This Forum Is A Great Idea
Rat rod/hot rod/street rod...whatever.Let`s not get all H.A.M.B.y over terms. I`m just kidding.I think the H.A.M.B. is fantastic.I`d like to think there could be a place for the trucky side of H.A.M.B.er-types to hangout with that great vibe this site is so unique for.Yeah, those" funky little things all put together all funky-like with old school touches mixed with things we`ve never seen that are barely driveable lookin`all rusty and are cool as ice".I think that`s what we`ll "allow" them to be called .I`m just being cocky in a sarcastic way.I yack my brain out here and only lurk over there because I can`t tangle with some of those`tudes (w/o getting into trouble) and would like to think others, like me,would love to have a place with less of a`tude. It`s the same with my off road 4wd interests.Other sights may be stronger in these departments because that`s all they do.But,none have the good vibe I think we all can dig rat cheer. We can only build it stronger with our own efforts.

Re: This Forum Is A Great Idea
Yes sir. I like Hotrods as well. But I have discovered a soft spot for the era correct builds. As they were done back in the 40s&50s.

Re: This Forum Is A Great Idea
I've been waiting for a pre '47 board , I have a '41 that I started chopping a few years back but lost interest after I broke my hand.
Maybe this will get me motivated on it again. I was originally going to go fender-less but I'm starting to lean towards fenders. I have a ton of pictures of these trucks on a disk somewhere , I'll have to dig them up. I had step by step pictures of me chopping my truck but all the pictures got lost.

Re: This Forum Is A Great Idea
I`m jealous.Consider yourself fortunate and stop taking that for granted!!! Hey,just a little pep talk from an envious early hauler wannabee.I`ve been into the 67/72s since`73 as "what I drive" and have watched them become precious gems. The early years were precious in`73.I just couldn`t have anything I didn`t really need for daily use way back then and one thing or another has kept me from them.It ain`t over yet.
