Help!

I'm trying to find TDC on my inline 250 so that I can adjust the valves, but a) i've never done it, and b) there doesn't appear to be a bolt to put a wrench on in order for me to turn it...there's just the harmonic balancer w/ the three holes and then the hole in the middle, but nothing attached to it...I've ready you can tap the ignition and get the rotor pointing the right way, but if they dizzy isn't put in that way then it wouldn't be correct...Please help me out...how can I turn this thing by hand?

If this is a rookie question, I'm sorry, but I've searched and read and tried and can't get it done...do I need to take off the belts or anything? I also read that you can put some penetrating oil into the spark plug holes to loosen it up a bit...maybe give this a shot?

Thanks in advance! I need the help!

Re: Help!

the 3 holes should be threaded and you can put in some long bolts that fit and use either a long screw driver or a pipe or somthin to turn over the motor also lossen the plugs it will make it a lil easier to trun over

and also remember 15-36-24 this is your fireing order
good way to remember that is the rite time 2 get marred
15 to young
36 to old
24 just rite sorry auto mecanics teacher tought me that cant forget it

another thing you need to remember your corosponding cylinders
153
624
other words 1 & 6 are up at the same time and same for the others

So when #1 cylinder is on compression # 6 is up on exhaust the exhaust valve will be closing and the intake will just start to open, #1 cylinder can be adjusted at this time.
When #5 cylinder is on compression # 2 is up on exhaust the exhaust valve will be closing and the intake will just start to open, #5 cylinder can be adjusted at this time
When #3 cylinder is on compression #4 is up on exhaust the exhaust valve will be closing and the intake will just start to open, #3 cylinder can be adjusted at this time.

take your time and it will turn out good, and keep them adjusted when i got my car it idoled like diesel truck lol
