The reason I have to give up my truck.

I know it sounds sad, but I have owned one of these cars since I was 15, and I have yet to drive one (I'm currently 26).
These cars have been the love of my life ever since I first laid eyes on one.
So, here is the reason I must give up the truck, and hopefully I will be able to get back into one soon.

I do have some big plans for it, but currently I just want to finish enough to drive it for a couple years and then really get into it.

Just curious... you've had this car for 11 years and sold your truck for the space/money to work on it finally? or you sold your truck to buy this car?

I actually had two 2 door sedans (complete basket cases), sold those, and I have been holding the money trying to find a decent 2 door hardtop for a while. Finally found one after I had already bought the truck. The '57 takes precedence over the truck, hence I have to get rid of the truck.

Build thread as I can. The car is at my uncle's shop 4 hours from me. I hope to have it mostly driveable this summer, gonna really push to get it done!

Driving down to work on it again this weekend! Pretty excited.
The goal for this weekend is to get that body onto the other chassis (temporarily) until my uncle gets his rotisserie back.
Also going to the 'Billetproof' Show in Gainesville this weekend, should be a blast!

I feel your pain with that choice. Here are some pics of mine. The yellow one is how it was when I drove it in high school, it's the one in primer/sealer now. I pushed it aside so I could do my truck with my dad. I hope to get back on it soon. The 150 and the HT are just a couple I picked up along the way. Of course the one that means the most to me is in the WORST shape.

The front bags still have a little air in them. That is a prybar handle. Nice and low!

Couple of cars that were at the Billetproof show. Pretty cool show, everything from Gassers to rat rods.

This thing was sick, so much detail and little things. I would see something new on it every time I walked by, which I happened to make several trips to check it out!

It took seven guys to pick that pig off the old frame and move it to the new one. Heavy beast!

the front cowl, after some sanding, then sand blasting, and finally wire wheel... took a long time just on this piece, but she's clean now!

Above the rear window, ewwww. thankfully I sand blasted and found this now!

Just below the rear window, on the valance panel. Again, good thing I sand blasted!

Notice the d.a. on the roof? yeah, I spent one entire f*in day d.a.ing the roof. 50 year old factory paint doesn't like to be removed. I think I went through a total of 23 80 grit pads on that roof.

Yes, that is a four door panel, and yes, I am trying to do this without blowing my entire budget on metal. My uncle happened to have this laying in his 'dream yard' as he calls it. I am going to do some trading for the rest of the quarter next time I go down there.
