Re: My 85 silverado

I thinks its probably something electrical I couldnt figure it out so im taking it to my mechanic tomorrow. Yeah its in real good shape specially for the money I paid, it has no rust the engine feels real strong and the tranny shifts smooth and it has dual flowmasters installed. It just needs minor stuff. Hopefully if money permits I can have the interior done and a paint job within the next two months. This is the best site

Re: My 85 silverado

I started another thread about this issue, it doesnt want to start sometimes it starts after messing with the igniton switch for awhile but it turns off right away. I replaced the starter thinking that was the problem I guess not.

Re: My 85 silverado

Kinda sounds like the problem I had with my 85 silverado crew cab dully. I would have to mess with the ignition to get it to turn on, took it to a shop and they said it was a problem in the steering column, I didn't have the money to dump into it at the time, so iwhen I got back home I traced every wire, I even chaged the starter, turns out it was the skinny wire that connects into the starter. It was loose, get somebody to wiggle the wires while u crank it, or better yet check it out wire a light tester. Hopefully that helps, and saves u some cash.

Re: My 85 silverado

Thanks for the info where does that skinny wire that connects to the starter actually comes from cause I checked out the Red wire that goes to the battery and it seems to be good.
