Not sure ? bumper or roll pan, what do you guys think,

63 long fleet.

On my 64 Fleetside I am putting on a rear bumper from a 66 Suburban. It would be rather easy to make a roll pan or maybe purchase a aftermarket fiberglass pan. good luck.

I'm gonna do both (eventually). I'll put a rollpan on and cut out holes for the bumper brackets and put the bumper on over the rollpan.

Corts 60 that is a great looking roll pan. Did you fab it yourself?

I just like the original look of a bumper. I had a roll pan on my 96 Chevy C1500 and never really warmed up to it. But I'm not a custom kind of guy. So really you should do what you think looks good.

I must say that a nice clean rear end with a pan, stock tailgate, stock lights and shaved chains looks damn good. Or it might just be a personal preference. The body line's just make it that much nicer. And I'm not really sure if I've ever actually seen a pan and bumper on a truck.

Kind of depends on what the theme of your truck is, stock, mild custom, hot rod, work truck, etc.

I really like the roll pan look on a stepside, not as much on a fleet, but too each their own.

Nope. It's just an LMC pan that was patched in pretty well by the PO.

I am going to put a rear bumber off a 72 chevy fleetside on the back of my 64 swb. I think it looks real clean.

Now that really looks good as there is normaly a gap between the top edge of the bumper and the lower edge of the tail gate,

I think that i will go for both, i tow a caravan to all shows so i also want a hidden tow ball

why is it that i allways seem ti pick the most costly option, maybee im like my wife,

I used the stock bumper, but flipped it up side down. modified the mounting brackets and pulled the bumper in closer to the truck kind of like the later 70's trucks.

I don't care for the roll pan on our style of truck, makes the ass end look too square, not enough character. If you went full custom and smoothed off the tailgate, chains, and lights, it might look okay, just not my style. I just removed a '67-'72 bumper from my truck. It looked okay, just not the look I'm going for, I want the stock painted bumper. Never thought of doing both a roll pan and bumper though, lookin' good Sinister-65.

I think a 63 should have a bumper (though the pan behind it looks tits) - 64 up work better for custom/ sans bumper applications IMO

my PO rigged a crazy tow ball apparatus under mine so im just goona bail the whiole thing for now on my six-4

With the cutout on the bottom like that, it would be a great place for the exhaust to exit.

Both on my stepside, once i saw one like with both and now a truck with just a bumper doesnt look quite right with the big open gap but thats my opinion..

i like roll pans, but not so much on these trucks...i do like the roll pan/bumper combo though...i also like the flipped & tucked bumper...here's another good example

Built 327 You need two tools in life: duct tape and WD-40. If it moves and it shouldn't, you use duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, you use WD-40.
