Re: gas gauge needle broke, where to set the new one
Well, I would take the truck down and fill it up (this can be done with the cluster partially apart) then set the new needle on the full mark. I know most read a little past full but if you set it on full there's less chance of running out before it reads empty.

Re: gas gauge needle broke, where to set the new one
I feel your pain !!!
If you can't afford to fill it up, Suck it dry then set the needle a little past empty. Add gas when it hits the "E" mark......

Yep - the only thing I would add is that the key will need to be in the "on" (or engine running) position. K

Re: gas gauge needle broke, where to set the new one
Actually thats exactlly oppisit of how you want to do it
You want to drain the tank and then with the key on you want to set your pointer. When it's full you know it and it dosent matter there and it never stays there very long anyways lol! but when its gettin near empty you really want to know it and doing it the other way may not be accurate when it gets to the other end of the scale. |
