What did you get done 2/7/10 Superbowl Edition

I didnt do much with the 82 except scan the usual sorces for parts but i did take delivery of another truck an 00 S10 extended cab that has a thread in that forum. I did get some parts for it like the stock jack lug, wrench ,and cover plus i got a used right mirror and ordered the seats for it. I also shopped for a radio and pair of tires as this will be a work truck for my company.
How about you all???

I took the truck out for the first time in a month; drove it about 75 miles or so, just a hair under 26k miles on her now. Needs shocks and an A/C compressor... maybe for the next "what did you get done" thread...

Played with my brand new 10X18 garage addition! I'm planning to spend the next couple weeks moving stuff around to get an idea of where I want what. In the end my tools, presses, band saw, workbench, cabinets etc will be out of the garage and in the new room.

Re: What did you get done 2/7/10 Superbowl Edition

Nothing vehicle related!

Played Army all weekend, now trying to watch the game.

I'm hoping tomorrow I'll receive a call that my tailgate band is done. I brought the band in about three weeks ago to have a very small, but noticable ding rubbed out. The band is a late 70s blazer band that I picked up last spring at a garage sale for $10. I'm using it to replace my original dent infested band on my 79 GMC P/U. I'll let you all see how it turned out. we'll see.

Mike

Nada truck related. I couldnt so much as open the garage door to look at it without the wife asking if i was done with the living room. lol. Had to replace all the floor, knock a wall down, and alot of other lil things. Im still waiting for my tires to get in from Discount tire, they had to order em. That was a great game!! Not a Saints fan but was cheering for them tonight.

My 1 year old son was sick all night and all day today, so we stayed home for the day instead of the plans we had to go watch the game with family & friends. Poor kid, just can't keep anything down.

Re: What did you get done 2/7/10 Superbowl Edition

Installed power steering on my 84. Had to make the power steering pump brackets for my 250. After several trips to the parts store it finally steers easy. Also installed cig lighter, clutch pedal spring, sealed the passenger side vent window.

Re: What did you get done 2/7/10 Superbowl Edition

Earlier this week i put this in:
Its very simple and basic and i like that. :-)

Bought and installed a gps unit tonight.
Had a pioneer navi headunit in the mustang, so i needed a gps for my new daily driver :-)

yeah, that means i'm keeping the truck

Also got the carb tuned in some more. i need to track test it, but so far, it's running better than ever before. 5500+ rpms and its not cutting out, but again, need to take it to the track to fine tune it. throttle response is much better too :-) it feels like its running like it should have been for years.

oh, and on another note, found out for sure my speedo is dead on :-) matches the gps perfectly! I'm happy i sprung for the electric version over the mechanical. makes gear/tire changes so easy :-D

also bought a new pet for me and the boy. Her name is Libby.

Me and the ex wife had 2 ferrets before my son was born, and i've wanted to get another one for a long time :-)

Re: What did you get done 2/7/10 Superbowl Edition

I had to put the charger on mine and start it to get it in the shop... drove it to town the day before... leaving the running lights on and forgetting about it is a bad thing... especially doing this in the damn Rain. I HATE our weather lately.

Re: What did you get done 2/7/10 Superbowl Edition

I stripped the interior out of the truck and cleaned it up then roughed up the paint with a scotch brite pad and sprayed the interior of the cab in flat black. I still have to spray the area of the dash that will be exposed but for the most part it looks good. My new carb should arrive today and I will hear it run before the end of the week hopefully.

I washed my 06 Silverado for the last time on Saturday. The sad news is I sold it. The good news is it went to forum member Killer71. He was really excited about it and I can tell its going to a good home.

After spending some time with my new friend Kaleb doing the truck deal, we had a good lunch, talked trucks and he headed home. I spent the rest of the day driving around in the beautiful weather working.

Sunday was gloomy as can be. Had lunch with my wife and visited a friend that just moved in to a new house.

I'm not a big football fan, but I did watch the Superbowl. I liked seeing the underdogs coming from behind for the win...

I spent most of the weekend on my back, under the truck, working on the exhaust. A lowered truck, a bad back, and a big belly are a bad combination...
