Manual trans with a Dropmember?

Tying to get all the bit's and pieces together for my Dropmember swap. I would really like to stay with a manual trans, but haven't really seen it done. Right now, it has a SM465, but I'm not picky on what goes in it. I'm not too worried about this truck breaking the sound barrier or getting there quick, I just like a clutch.

I have a cam'd 350 that will be going in when I do the swap, and I don't really want a stall converter as she is more of a putt around town cruiser than a speed demon. I really have nothing against the 465, but I'm concerned about 1) the mounting of it, 2) interference with the trans tunnel since the DM raises everything 2 inches.

Open to any and all ideas, and don't be afraid to tell me I'm an idiot and missing something.

Re: Manual trans with a Dropmember?

I would put a 4x4 high hump bolt in floor in it if it were mine and I needed the clearance. The crossmember is easy just make one out of box tubing and angle iron tabs. My 2 cents. BBO

Re: Manual trans with a Dropmember?

I have a Dropmember and probably going to go with a Tremec TKO 600. I've already got my high hump that I have to cut my NEW 1 piece floor pan to put in. I'm not looking forward to that. The other thing that I'm concerned about is whether or not my HEI is going to hit the firewall. It didn't before I had the dropmember and since then, I've completely finished shaving my firewall. I just recently got the dropmember and havent had the cab or engine in yet. We will see, I've got my fingers crossed.
