Heater problems

I have a 85 GMC i get no heat from the defroster just blows cold air! can someone tell me where to start.

i posted pictures a couple of weeks ago in another thread similar to this with the location of the heater door and the cable if it turns out to be the problem

I replaced two thermostats in a 4.3l V6 due to heat probs, didn't fix a thing. Repaired the broken cable end and heat would run you out!!!!!

Attack this issue 1 step at a time. Check coolant level. Next run engine for 20 minutes and feel upper rad hose, should be HOT. If not, change thermostat & recheck. (coil spring end towards eng, no spring end towards rad) Next feel heater hoses. If one is cold and the other hot, heater core is plugged. Try flushing it out. If that don't work, replace it. Lastly, check door operation. Hope this helps, Jim

So how did it go you get it fixed O and Thanks OLD RUSTY you helped me out the other day on that other thread you were talking about my computer thing above the heater was blocking it from giving me heat (who knows how long it was that way the po said it was years since the heat work) sa again tons of thanks o and my wife thanks you too
