High hump

Can you tell from this picture if this is a high hump floor?

It is a 70 GMC 3/4 ton with a small block and a 4 speed.

Is there a common fomula for what came with a high hump?

Which is more desirable?

Re: High hump

Yes it is a high hump. Pretty sure all manual transmissions had high humps.

Re: High hump

My '68 was a manual, "three on the tree" and it has a low hump. From your pic it seems like it is a high hump. If that is bolts around the base of it, it is.

Just to the left of the brake pedal!

It is down on the floor, you can just barely see it on the extreme left edge of the photo.

Re: High hump

high humps;
all 4X4 trucks
all 4 speed trucks
all big blocks with automatic

Those are the only ones that were supposed to get them, but an odd ball went down the line from time to time with a high hump.

I have even run across a truck that was 402/TH400 and had a low hump in it

Re: High hump

My 67 is a high hump, and per the VIN = 6 cylinder, 3/4 ton, also has the column shift. Also has an odd model type in the VIN, it's a 9, not 4,6,or 8. Look up your vin just for kicks, or you may find something diff about your truck. BTW didn't help me though cause I still don't know what the 9 means for my truck.

Re: High hump

I'm thinking a 9 model is a cab/chassis... maybe a flat bed. I'll have to dig into my books tomorow if no one can confirm/deny.
rt 23.... by the old K-mart, right?

Re: High hump

I actually just moved here a few months ago. I was at Rikenbacker for a tick in highschool then on the west side for a long time, left here (7.5 years US Army) and came back to the west side in 01.
I'm out the door right now for a loooong day at work... I'll try to look that up this evening.
I raced twice at the BMX dirt track by the K mart back in '90 or so... maybe '91.
