Who has updated their steel wheels?

Sorry bout the title, couldnt think of any other way to describe what Im about to ask for. My latest kick has been scanning through the different trucks on the net, looking at ways people have customized their steel wheels. What got me going on this was a spring 2008 issue of hot rod deluxe. The last article in that mag was about pairing different combinations of painted steel wheels add-ons such as trim rings, spider caps, and regular center caps. So thats what Id like to see pics of here. Has anyone done anything like that on our ralley wheels? sorry if this is kinda confusing. Its one of those "its easier to show ya" things... but I cant find anything on that mag online, nor can I get my scanner to work with my netbook.

Re: Who has updated their steel wheels?

I've seen people paint the steel body color and use the chrome beauty rings and center caps. Looks good.

Re: Who has updated their steel wheels?

I painted my OEM rims semi-flat black, same as my truck paint. I will be putting some rings on them and possibly some spider caps on as well.

Here are some pics of custom oem/rally wheels.

Re: Who has updated their steel wheels?

Ive always loved the steel rallys, had a set on my 91 before it was totaled. I sand-blasted them down, primed and painted them body color of my truck.

Re: Who has updated their steel wheels?

Hey on that first 60' model black truck (the one with the low pro tires) What size are those wheels? I am assuming they are the 20" spare wheel for doges or somethin... Where do you get them? They look sick!

Thanks!

Do some research on the Porta-Walls, they're not recommended for use with radial tires.

Went from the stock argent silver, to gloss black. Stock center caps for 4WD, and chrome trim rings.
