what to do?
Well I ve been wanting to get a bike for a while, so Im debating on wether to sell the BBW . I'm kinda torn on this. I dont have much invested in it, but it is a drivable project I've been offered 2,000 for it as it sits.
Yea I know this is more of a rant but what to do?

Re: what to do?
That's a tough one. About all you can do is weigh how much fun you'll have with a bike compared to the potential sellers remorse once the truck is gone.

Re: what to do?
Few thoughts.. Not sure what kind of bike you are looking for but regaurdless. You can drive this truck and watch the value grow and if $2000 is what you need for your bike how hard is coming up with 2k over finding another truck for 2k in the same shape yours is in. If you can easily pick up another truck well then its a coin flip.. Its all about whats in your heart.. I love to ride although I am a value kind of person and like to watch my money grow as I ride/drive.. New cars/bikes to me are just throw away transportation.. So its a personal choice.

Re: what to do?
Well put. There is no driving experience that I get more enjoyment from, than rolling in one of my 4-5-6 Chevy trucks. I have owned bikes, boats and PWC's and none of them put a smile on my face, like my trucks. My personal experience has been these trucks are appreciating assets and unlike other vehicles, they don't begin depreciating upon leaving the lot.
Sell some unwanted/unused items, to raise the $2K for the bike and keep the truck!!! |

Re: what to do?
That is a tough. Me, I love these trucks and I know you do to. Yet, you can have the best of both worlds. You have the 60 to still cruise in and a bike to ride. What kind of bike are you looking at?

Re: what to do?
Damn - I want your truck.
Need it like another hole-in-the-head, can't afford it, and have no place to put it - but I want it. Good luck with your decision. Mac.

Re: what to do?
I've got my '63K and a '77 jockey shifted Police Special with 18" apes. I'd probably shoot myself if I had to part with one (or both). If I had 2K to play with, I'd keep an eye out for an older American running basket. In this area, you can find them pretty cheap. Alot of people bought the before the Dot Com and R.E. busts and are trying to get rid of them. Be patient! You're good with the tools and keeping it running will be about the same as the BBW but twice as cool as rice...may not run as well or be as quiet, but MUCH cooler! Good luck.

Re: what to do?
If I wouldn't have gotten a motorcycle my truck would have taken 3 years less time to finish. At least now the scoots paid for so it wont mess with my 4x4 build money. Theres always cooler floor boards, bags, lights, controls, seat, pipes, CROME! A motorcycle can sure kill a trucks budget.

Re: what to do?
Yeah but I know the area where he's gonna be ridin' that scoot and he does have a dilemma on his hands. Skyline, Four Corners, Highway 9, LosGatos and Spring is right around the corner. On the other hand, the BBW looks pretty tight and if you sell it local, you'll probably see it driving around...that in itself would kill me! Kinda like seeing an old girlfriend looking real good except with another dude.

Re: what to do?
I sold my BMW because I didn't want to make the payments anymore. I ended up buying a 2007 Kawasaki KLR650 for $2200. I was paying almost $300 a month for a 2007 BMW GS1200 that I hardly rode. I think my choice was good. I will probably add another low $ bike that I can take on long trips. The bikes are fun but after 30 years of riding my fear level has gone up, and I prefer to be nice and warm in my truck..
