Rear disc brakes?
I tried the search function already before I get yelled at. Perhaps my key words were incorrect. Regardless, for my 86 C10 I would like to install rear disc brakes. Is there a budget option for this swap, or do I need to purchase a kit from a vendor? I am just wondering if say rear disc brakes from any other GM vehicle will swap onto my rear end? Any and all info with and without pics is greatly appreciated. I don't have my truck out form storage yet, but I know it needs brake work so I figured why not upgrade while I am repairing. Thanks in advance.

Re: Rear disc brakes?
You can bolt on parts or swap the axel. Caddy and Lincoln full size cars from the 80's have 5X5 bolt patterns. Gear ratios are slightly different too.

Re: Rear disc brakes?
I am doing a setup from a board member here.... it is a custom bracket from i think captainfab ($75) 77 lincoln rotors ($100) and 80's camaro calipers ($200) then you need the hoses for the calipers. it has an ebrake. with this setup though you need to take about 1/4 inch off the axle flange diameter and also some off the bump out in the middle of the flange that the rim slides on to. it is going well so far.

Re: Rear disc brakes?
So far I am leaning towards just picking up the blackbird customs kit as it seems to be a fairly straight forward set-up that will provide me with what I am looking for. I already have a project car so the trucks budget is very limited but than again budgets change based on requirements!
