Talk About A Resto ,Wow !!!
I found this on Ebay this morning and was very impressed. I'd like to know your opinions on the "Buy it Now " price. Do you feel its too high, too low or right on?

Re: Talk About A Resto ,Wow !!!
Looks like a great truck.... but I dont think someone that has that kind of money would spend it on a stock looking long bed. Not that thats a bad thing

Looks awesome - I would think the truck is worth that, but not sure there are all that many looking for one like that

Didn't this truck belong to a member here? If I'm not mistaken he just sold it in the past month or so.

Re: Talk About A Resto ,Wow !!!
IMO-too high...my preference isn't in the stock/fresh off showroom floor truck look though.

Re: Talk About A Resto ,Wow !!!
The last few comments I think are online with the reality of the situation. Much like my truck is supposedly valued at $12 - $24,000, let's be serious... It ain't all that. This truck is probably worth $50K because of what's been put into it. But if someone has $50K to spend on a truck and they don't get a brand new (fill in the blank), AND a classic truck, they're crazy!

Re: Talk About A Resto ,Wow !!!
I don't think that is too far off base. Agreed that if an owner paid to have this truck restored by someone or a company (that has credibility), much more then $36000 went into labor, let alone the cost of all then new parts and/or restoration of original parts. Having built my truck on my own, and having it appraised for $36000, I lost a lot on my own labor, can't say how much, as I did not keep track, but parts alone I spend around $20000.

Re: Talk About A Resto ,Wow !!!
Very nice, I only like them when they are all original.
But did you see that it has a Cheyenne emblem on the glove box door, and not the correct Sierra Grande one, also no stove pipe & heat sheild, parts that are not that hard to get. If you are going all the way, go all the way! |

That truck was for sale here last year. It was a members truck. Looks like a dealer sale now. Very nice.

Re: Talk About A Resto ,Wow !!!
Yes that was my truck which I had since 2000 and had it shipped from Calif.,and he does have all of the origional parts, stove pipe, intake, carb, cover, camper mirrors, distibutor, etc and the emblem on the glove box door is the origional emblem ,because this was my Grandparents truck which they bought new in '72 and the origional mileage is a little over 67,000 and was a rust free Calif.accident free truck and was insured with Hargarty's when I had it for $40,000.It was a 3 year restoration and I had his asking price into the truck. It's everything he says it is. The only reason I sold it was I couldn't work on it anymore because of my Arthritis and I needed the money for other responsibilities. Like my Grandmother said to me at 96 years old ,while I was driving the truck away, she said to me I'll miss that old truck and I will to.Thank you all for all your help while I restored the truck. Thats why I'm selling the rest of my parts I had left over on the parts board. Thanks again. Dave

Re: Talk About A Resto ,Wow !!!
That truck is very nice. Just the nuts and bolts gets expensive let alone NOS or restoring original ones. I think it is worth every penny. Although if I was looking to spend that kind of money I might look at something different!
