Emblem & history question

Are these two emblems correct for an 85 C-30? Not sure what the KOA campground insignia means. Camper Special? What options were included with that 'model'? Just curious since I thought a cab & chassis is a cab & chassis and nothing more.

Trying to read what I can on these but just not sure of the various models these trucks came out as. Even more confused with the quad headlight vs single square headlights years as a means to identify what year a truck is. Obviously quad is not defined as newer than single headlight and vice-versa.

Seems like there were a lot of versions of models offered. Is there a link to this history?

Thanks,
Mark

Re: Emblem & history question

the KOA is the camper special logo... those enblems sierra 3500 are the correct style but sierra is the gmc version if your truck is a chevy it would read custom deluxe , scottsdale, or Silverado .. GMC is Sierra Sierra classic and Sierra Grande

Re: Emblem & history question

Quad headlight is part of option V22 Deluxe front appearance, Camper Special Z81 was available for chassis cabs also, includes G60 main & auxilary springs and F58 H.D. front stabilizer. Plain Sierra (GMC) is the same as Custom Deluxe (Chevy). Read the fine print below, should answer some of your questions. BTW, is the option sticker on the front inner fender or in the glovebox?

Re: Emblem & history question

Thanks for the info, I was wondering about the Sierra designation since the dash says Scottsdale. The options sticker is in the glovebox.

Again, appreciate the info. Still learning.

Re: Emblem & history question

Since the Sierra emblem is pop-riveted on I would think it is suspect (should be attached via studs through the fender with nuts on the backside).

Also - if the SPID label is still in the glovebox then the model number will also tell the brand:

TC30903 where T = GMC and C = 2wd
vs
CC30903 where C = Chevy and C = 2wd

(Pickup model numbers shown; cab chassis will probably be either a C31003 or C31403 depending on wheelbase).

Pretty much all the model and option variations that were available on the pickups were also available on Cab Chassis.
