Special-k, does that Hicks Bros say Kansas City Missouri under it? My 72 is from there and has that same emblem on it.

Re: Vintage Dealer Name Plates

Here is mine from Longhorn Chevrolet. I am going to put them back on the finished truck because I still have the original title with the previous owner as Longhorn chevy and I have an original Longhorn chevrolet keychain and the protect-o-plate.

Anyone in the Knoxville area able to search in the old junkyards to help 19673ontree out with his search?

Re: Vintage Dealer Name Plates

Not really a name plate, but I think it qualifies. I wish I had the protect-o-plate and original paperwork to go with it.
I thought about looking that guy up when I lived in Dallas, but never did.

Re: Vintage Dealer Name Plates

There is another thread like this floating around somewhere. I think it is pretty neat to find dealership stuff on these old trucks.

Here are a few photos I took from a local salvage yard. None of these are mine.

Re: Vintage Dealer Name Plates

Has anyone ever re-chromed one of the dealer name plates? There's a "Criswell" Chevrolet (my last name - no relation unfortunately) dealership in Maryland and I have a plastic license plate & license plate frame from there. There's a couple old metal tags from the dealership on ebay, but they look pretty rough. I'm not sure if these could be re-chromed or not. Any idea? Anyone have one in better shape they want to sell?

Re: Vintage Dealer Name Plates

I would love to find a NALLEY CHEVROLET one for a friend of mine that is restoring a very rare 67 Chevelle bought new in Atlanta at Nalley Chevrolet .He lives in Ohio so there is a slim chance he will find one.
