Maybe the spring is not seated in the upper spring pocket.

yea, I thought that to; so I took the spring back out and re installed with no luck? Could it be that the old ball joint was so old and deteriated that it was affecting the ride height?

springs might need to just be worked down. i rebuilt my camaros suspentions over a weekend and it took it a few days to drop down back to were it was. or the old balljoints could have been that worn

sounds like the wrong ball joint ... not seating fully due to different taper ... the correct ball joint should have no affect on ride height.

I agree with Shane, but let me throw in that my current dually had 1/2 inch of play in the worn ball joint. When I put new ball joints in, it regained the 1/2 inch. Any wear in the bj will cause the suspension to sag lower.

Okay! That's what everybody elsae is telling me. My old ball joints were so bad I had to cut the castle nut off the threaded end because it was just spinning.

I ran the part number and it seems you changed the bj in your late model chevy?

If so and you have dropped djm arms, you used the wrong bj. You need to go and grab some ford f150 bj's napa part number 260-1460 which is a napa gold, which I like better than moog.
