'65 Door Rubber Stop - To Big For Hole???

On my '65 Chevy, there is a small hole in the door opening of the cab for a round rubber stop. Problem is, unless I am missing something - the stop is to big for the hole????

Re: '65 Door Rubber Stop - To Big For Hole???

Post a pic of the hole and the stop. When installing them, I put a little dielectric grease on the stop and the hole. It usually slips in without too much trouble. The '60-'63 trucks had 1/4" holes and some of the '64 trucks had 1/4" or 1/2" holes. The '65 & '66 Chevy trucks had 1/2" holes and some of the '64 Chevy trucks had 1/4" or 1/2" holes. Check you hole size, to make sure you ordered the correct door bumpers.

PS - You can also drill out the holes to properly accept your rubber bumpers, but make sure they are not too big or they will fall out.

IT's a PITA to get that stop in there, but like Lilred said, lube it up!

I tried with lube, couldn't get it in (insert joke here) Finally had to drill the hole out a bit.
