This came on the truck when I got it. Still wondering what it's for?
Writing on back says Kelsey Hayes 81839

Yea trailer brake controller, the handle lets you apply the trailer brakes manually

Some of the old style brake controllers are opeerated from brake fluid surge and was connected to a brake line usually around the master cylinder. If you remove it remember to block off the line or you could loose you brake fluid. You don't need the controller unless you are going to pull a trailer.
