I have a new take off tailgate that I bought for a project but never ended up using. The guy I bought it from said he took it off in 1974 to put a slide in camper in the back of his truck & it's been storage ever since. Its in great condition with only a little wear & some surface rust from being in storage since 1974. The alumnium piece isn't very shiny any more & there is one dent it this piece(circled in red in the pic). Asking $250

Is the original color of this tailgate the "Crimson Red" color or is it Orange?

It appears to be maybe a faded Red???

And it is a "CHEVROLET" tailgate, not a GMC one...correct?

If so I am interested in it!

It's orange. The paint isn't faded at all. Yes it is a Chevrolet tailgate.

That gate is correct for trucks up until the design change in mid 76. The giveaway is the tabs above the latches near the top of the gate. They slide into a recess in the bedside.
