lil bit of a defroster problem
'84 silverado my dad and i tore out the old wiring harness after it fried and some pieces were kinda left out on the reinstall (seems to happen a lot ) and i'm gonna need a diagram or a description on how the heater/defroster are put together, it is an a/c truck with all the a/c stuff taken off. freakin rednecks i bought it from... but it is wired right now just when i go from heat to defrost the fan spins up faster but it keeps coming out below the dash
thanks guys

Re: lil bit of a defroster problem
There is a door inside your heater box just under your glove box that deflects the air different ways when you change it on your heater control, the clip that holds the rod to the door to open and close it brakes therefor the air flow will not change. Just fixed mine in my 83.

Re: lil bit of a defroster problem
the air valve to change from def to floor is over your gas pedal, behind glove box is a bulging part to the air box, removing the outside will give access to the clip, ontop check that the cables havn't bent or the plastic cracked(where the screw goes threw to ajust and fasten). i posted a pic a bit ago of mine when i fixed my 85......i'll post again when i get home from work later
