Looking for 73-87 chassis torque specs

Howdy folks,

I am rebuilding and installing 73-87 front control arms on my 69 c-10 and was wondering if anyone has a listing of the chassis torque specs for the 73 and up trucks. The bushing design is different between the 2 body styles and all i can find is the 67-73 specs. Thanks.

I didn't find a complete listing but the lower control arm U-bolts on 1/2 tons torque at 85 ft.lbs., The upper control arm to frame nuts torque at 70 ft.lbs. according to Chilton....

Re: Looking for 73-87 chassis torque specs

OK, Here's the skinny.... I looked the other specs up on-line (Chilton's), I didn't see the shaft specs listed there.

This morning I got off my lazy butt and hunted through 3 closets of new truck parts and found my 74 DEALER'S Service Manual.

Here's the suspension torque sheet straight from GM;

Notice the difference in 1/2 and 3/4 ton, Chilton is off on their specs saying 85 for "ALL"..... ?

Good Luck !
