Re: 69 nos grill

Check the condition. If it is mint, I'd say at least $500

Re: 69 nos grill

It won't be hard to sell if you are willing to ship it.

Re: 69 nos grill

I've sold two of them NOS. One here for 700 (which Fedex Promptly damaged and I took back)
Another I put on ebay and sold for 750.
I've seen them sell for over 800 on ebay. Lately, though, the only ones I've seen selling have been around 500.

Check the inner, if it's the std 69 eggcrate, that's worth around 200. If it is a 70 with the black and silver alternating, it is probably easily worth 500-600 to the right person. They don't make those any more and don't make them repop....

Re: 69 nos grill

I agree with $500-600. If you're going to ship, spring for the extra effort and shipping costs and build a sturdy wooden crate. It's the only way to protect against shipping mishaps, cardboard just doesn't cut it with todays shipping services. Sharpie

Re: 69 nos grill

FYI- FedEx does NOT offer insurance....UPS does, but their shipping prices are sky-high.

really? Is that a recent change?

Fedex easily settled a claim that I filed when they damaged one of my items... didn't ask for pictures or anything..

I bought a dash recently that showed up with a broken bezel. It was packaged quite well and you could see the box was damaged pretty bad on one corner. The guy filed a claim and fed-ex sent a letter to me that said "sorry we can't honor your claim"????? They never contacted me about anything or asked for pics from either the seller or me. Not very happy with FED-EX...

It's always been that way. They ask you for a "declared value" but do not offer actual insurance like UPS does. You can file a claim, but there is NO guarantee they will settle in your favor. Sounds like you got lucky

I would have to disagree based on the fact that I just received a $733 check from FedEx. Paid for 700 insurance, they damaged a NOS grille, and they paid for the insurance claim and also refunded the shipping cost. Also put 200 insurance on an inner NOS 69 grille that came cracked with a dented box. Got the 225 check within a couple weeks. So yes, they do offer insurance for an additional charge and do pay it if it's a valid claim. Not sure in every case as mentioned above, but worked in my case.

I have to disagree based on the fact I was told by FedEx that insurance purchase was NOT an option. I just shipped a tailgate to Colorado via FedEx Ground, and it was only assigned a "declared value" of $400, which is what I sold it for and what I told them to put down. I asked them if insurance purchase was an option and they said "We don't offer insurance; you have to go to UPS for that" That is NOT to say they won't pay out a damage claim...they just kind of have the option NOT to

Re: 69 nos grill

sorry for the thread hijack...

point is to insure it if you ship, sounds like it worth $600+ depending on finding a buyer.

good luck, back to our regularly scheduled thread on WIW..

Re: 69 nos grill

I think you could start there. May not sell or someone may make an offer but who knows...It depends on which inner it is as well....

Re: 69 nos grill

It also would depend on the outer grille as well. There are two types of 69-70 outer grilles.
