How do side mirrors mount?

Po shaved side mirrors off doors. I want to put them back on. Do they have nuts on inside of door or threaded inserts in door skin?

Re: How do side mirrors mount?

There's a small oval shaped bracket. The mirror mounting bracket screws go through the door outer sheetmetal and into that oval bracket.

I guess I should clarify - my mind immediately went to the small D49 type mirrors (like are on my truck).

I'm not sure for the larger "buckeye" type mirrors....

Re: How do side mirrors mount?

If you need the exact mounting location let me know. I have some measurements available.

Do you have those for the "dumbo" type mirrors? That would be a great help to me.
