Question rebuilding your own carb?

edelbrock 600 that i have that might be missing some linkage, but it is manual choke. is it worth me trying to rebuild myself? i dont know of anyone around me who does it anymore.

There is a guy in Pearland that does rebuilds. He does great work and they look just like new. He is not inexpensive.

We just had the sale on rebuilt 600cfm's last week for $199.00 reman by edelbrock and sold out of everyone. Not worth rebuilding for that. Guys want $150 to $175 for used ones.

Here are some pics of a 600 with manual choke. You may be able to see whats missing. We have them in stock

my prob is finding one of those high price used ones that actually work when i get it home . so no sale anymore? where can i find another? ill pay 200 for a new one, just not 300

and the piece mine is missing is the top link to that flapper seems like the only difference. i just remember the truck wouldnt even idle with that carb. thinking of trying the 2bbl holley my buddy has. its new, but was for a ford i believe and not sure how hard it would be to do, but im definately sure it still works,
