Gonna try to use Sport Comp Autometers and was wondering if they will fit in the smaller holes or if they have to be made bigger? What size guages work?

Mudder you can use 2 5/8 for the 4 lower holes.A 3 3/4 guage such as fuel pressure for the factory tach hole and 5 in guages in the 2 big holes ...All you need to do is cut around the inside of the hole to remove the tapered edge. Then the guages should slide in from the front of the pannel.....Be careful when cutting not to heat up the plastic cause it will get all gooey....Hope this helps

You can also mount them from the back side. Giving them an original look.

I did this several years ago so I've probably missed something but you get the idea.

Use a seperate piece of lite weight metal to mount the gauges in, lining them up with the holes. (used my bezel as a template) You won't be using the old gauge parts at all. Mount the metal from behind the dash. make sure to cut out so that your light and wiper switches will clear and put holes for the bezel screws to clear. You may need some nylon spacers to get the guages flush with the bezel.
The main pain in the butt is getting your turn signal indicators to work with out the circuit board. A couple of pre wired blub sockets should do the trick. And save the little card board tubes as well as the green lenses

I think it's a little more difficult way to go but worth the effort. The gauges run about $500 new from Autometer. If I was to do it over I'd use a tach on the left, large speedo on the right and fuel gauge in center.

I used 2 inch guages in mine. They sit down in the bexel hole pretty good, showing the chrome on the bezel pretty good. Mine are affixed to the bexel its self, and mounted with the retention that came with the aftermarket guages.

I mounted Autometer comp gauges in my new dash, and painted the stock speedo and fuel gauge to match. I like it.
