Re: Whos running air shocks?

The problem with air shocks is that they use relatively weak shock mounts to support the weight of the vehicle, which they aren't meant to do...

yes you can, its surprisingly simply, to air my old ones up, there was this valve that looked like a reg. bike or car tire valve, im sure you can mock something up using a dc emergency tire kit pump...

this is no way a sub. to bags. the ride was rough, 3-wheeled a couple of times.

hell back in the day before bags, some youngsters were doubling them rancho ones on the front of ther minitrucks and running a single pair in the back cus it was cheaper than hydraulics and the stiff ride they could deal with. my buddy had a mazda x-cab setup like this with a small walmart air fill tank and like 3 cadillac factory air compressors teed into the tank for thier air shocks. he had guages and manual valves up front to do the front to back and set his ride height. mounted the valves in his custom console and the dumps literally straight down through holes in the floor.
wasnt too bad to me when i rode in it from here to houston. dont know how much i would trust to do this on a squarebody though because of the weight
