Auto Shipper

Try Dependable Auto Shippers.....

They'll ship from Oregon to Virginia for around $1000

And they usually pickup within three days.....

Ya - it runs!

Here's the deal - I'm looking at buying this truck, possibly as soon as a week but don't want to move it til May (relocating to Minot). This truck is in near show condition. I've considered driving it back myself with my son - great father son trip! Not sure I want to put the truck thru the road rash. Funny - DAS was the quote I got and choked on! I received another today for under a grand but haven't looked into it. I'm no fool - and thats why I came to you guys - I know there's a more reasonable way to handle this. Keep bringin the ideas.

I had one shipped back in october, that's why I gave the price.

Unless the cost of service has gone up due to the economy.

I got a quote 3 days ago to ship a truck from New Jersey to Houston, TX - 1800 miles - for $705 from Precious Cargo. That's the cheapest I've come across.

you need to check and see if that is an open trailer or closed if it is open and it gets ding up or scratched they will not fix it because there is a clause in the contract that says that is out of there control and that is an act of god. the prices are high becase it is there season for moving. check and make shure about the contract and there insurance and get a through price brake down. the price frome das was that with ins in a closed trailer.

Whoops! Got member's name's mixed up.

I meant ITAZ72, The one who started the post. There's a big Air Force Base north of Minot. That's the ony reason I can think of why someone would move from Alaska to Minot ND.

why buy it if you dont want to drive it, it defeats the purpose and wastes your money, personally i will never tow a vehicle unless it does not run

Might want to re-read the post Krazy. He's talking about having it shipped to him across country to avoid damaging the truck from road debris etc. I'm sure it will get driven plenty when it gets home

I also got a low bid from Precious auto transport, but the low bid was useless, as after 4 weeks they just called and said they woul/could not move my car. I am in Maine, which I realize is out of the way, but why would they bid it if they couldn't move it? I still am trying to get my car from Nebraska to Maine, and after 5 and a half weeks, still the car is with the former owner. The guy is being cool about it, but I am losing my cool. I am on my second company, with yet another money back guarantee, but money back guarantees are useless to me because my car is still in Nebraska. I cant drive it back, because it is 63 years old. It runs good, but is not restored.
I dont know what if anything can be drawn from my experience, but I am frustrated, having bought the car so long ago, and still not getting it. i guess the lesson is to live in a popular area.

Guys,
I'm dealing with EZHauling.com right now;
So far so good, there was alittle confusion about the pickup location but the truck is in transit as we speak;
they had the lowest quote of anybody;
one other thing for those still looking, call these sites by phone because the online quote is ballpark and times are tough right now; these people will cut their profit margin to keep the drivers busy;
I'll post a yeah or nay on EZHauling.com when my truck gets here, that is if it doesn't end up in Mexico or some where...........
I told the shipper about this site and how eberyone was lways asking who to call to ship their trucks and that i would give him a good thumbs up if they didn't &*%$ me to bad LOL

I'm in central NE, and usually charge 50 -60 cents per mile, but with fuel costs going up, price may fluctuate now. Maybe we could work out a tag team delivery like we did a year ago with Brenneke's truck !

The second company just flaked out on me too. I read a message where a guy said times were tough, for WHO? I cant pay sombody to haul my car, so far.
The two companies who agreed to ship my truck, then called later and said they couldn't were:
Traditional auto shipping
Precious cargo

The worst part is that they dont tell me right away, the phone rep both times promised, and in the second case, I actually got the manager on the phone, I made them promise me that they really really were going to haul my car. Both times, and especially the second time, they made repeated assurances that going to Maine was no problem. It was. Now I am trying again. I am sure i am going to get another promise, another money back guarantee, and after 2-3 weeks I will learn that they just blew the engine in all 25 trucks simultaniously. That is the excuse I just got. The web site said they had many many haulers they contract, I guess there must have been a mass motor failure.
Okay, now I am venting. At least dan69 step has given me at least a glimmer of hope. I hope I can work somthing out.

I just got a quote from EZHauling to make the same New Jersey to Houston haul for $650.
No3Fan4Ever, please keep us posted on how your shipping experience comes out. If they do a good job for you, I'll probably use them.
Thanks for the tip.

My truck arrived late last night (see my post "Heyyyyy ....I finally found one);
the transport company delivered as promised within the time frame they agreed to do it in ;
The transport driver was an independent driver that was brokered thru EZHauling;

all I expected to get out of this was for my truck to be delivered in one-piece with minimal trouble and that was accomplished ;

Only complaint about EzHauling is the computer tracking is not updated frequently enough at least in my opinion and I had to ask for more frequent updates; but they did respond to all inquiries promptly
