spedometer cable installation trouble

I just recently replaced the wiper motor in my cheyenne and I had to remove the gauge cluster. When I put everything back on, the speedometer cable will not fit back on. There is enough slack for it to reach, it seems that something isnt seating right. The actual spinning cable is going in and seating on the little brass stopper, but the collar isnt reaching the threded part of the speedometer. What do you guys think?

Re: spedometer cable installation trouble

Pull the cable into the truck a little more. It is probably pushed to far into the fire wall.

Re: spedometer cable installation trouble

The spinning part of the cable was sticking out to much. I pushed it back in and it slipped right back on. Thanks for the help.
