Mickey Thompson street radial II

Well after figuring out that I dont want to run 18X8's all the way around, I started looking around. I originally wanted Mickey Thomson Sportsman S/R tires. But after realizing that I cant afford new wheels I called Boyd Coddington wheels.

They can "re-hoop" 2 of my wheels for a not so bad price. I can go from 18X8 to 18X10 or 18X12, I figure if i'm gonna spend the loot I may as well go as wide as I can. However a Sportsman S/R is not made for a 12" wheel (on an 18"). So another tire I found the Mickey Thompson ET street radial II's. I can only find a handful of 345/35 18's. Most are track tires. The ET street radials have a 000 treadwear. So basically they wear out real quick but they stick good.

There are many 335/30 18's but I think they are too short. I would like at least 3 or 4 inches of sidewall. What do you guys think? Has anyone seen a more "streetable" 345/35 18? The pic below is the street radial II I believe the ones on the left are the 345/35.

Anyone have any experience with this or a similar tire? How long do you gus think they will last? Considering I won't race it or drive it real hard. It will have the power but i'm too old to be hot rodding around.

I run a MT ET Street radial, but in a 315/60/15.. I can't say exactly how many miles are on them, but I'd say at least 800 or so with several decent burn outs.. They do hook pretty good (but I also work on my suspension a lot).. They don't seem to be showing a lot of wear yet.

Re: Mickey Thompson street radial II

They should last a few thousand miles if not more. I probably had 2-2.5k on mine when I took them off and they had plenty of meat left on them. They are good dry traction tires and the side walls are sitff enough for some hard street driving. I will most likely end up with 305 or 315 18" MT DRs.
The 345s looks awesome.

Re: Mickey Thompson street radial II

if you don't do burnouts. these tires should give you maybe up to 10K miles. and you're gonna need a helluva motor to turn em anyway. these things will stick on blacktop. they aren't that great in rain but you'll survive with em.

Re: Mickey Thompson street radial II

Thats exactly what I wanted to know. The other 345/35's I saw were MH Racemasters. They are about the same price. I'll probably get the Mickey Thompsons. If I get 10k miles out of them i'll be happy. Thanks for the responses. Thank you 6772.
