Re: help help help
Sorry I can't help, that's one of the many questions I have too. I'm watching this thread to see what they tell you. The guys in the know must have done gone to bed. I've got a 76 4x that I'm wanting to use the frame out from under. Good luck!

Re: help help help
I see you are in Cali, I just talked to a guy the other day near me who has a 67 or 68 frame can't remember exact year. He will let it go cheap IIRC. I can try to put you in contact with him.
Also, as far as later frames I had a 1965 Carry All that was on a mid 90's frame, I didn't build it but I finished it. From what I could see it was some work. I always see it as easier to do the upgrades to your old setup, as far as disc conversion etc. But a lot of guys do it.

Re: help help help
I've done three of them, on Blazer frames, though. With the Blazer frame you end up with about a 2" body lift 'cause of the rise at the rear. I think you would be OK with a pickup frame.
The crew cab I'm building is on a '80 frame and if I remember correctly the box fit good. For the cab: Rad support mounts are moved back to the two rear spring hanger holes. Front and rear cab mounts have to be moved or fabricated. Steering and brakes aren't much of a problem.

Also, the one thing I remembered he said was it had the tranny cross member removed at one point, can't remember if he still had it but can't be that hard to track one down.
