There's a few around... as far as installing the gauges... are you flush mounting or recessing the gauges behind the factory bezel?

Here's a "How to" for both.

73-87.com Recessed Gauges

73-87.com Surface Mounted Gauges

As far as wiring, from everything I have read the Painless wiring harness kit for these gauges is hands down the only way to go. I just ordered all my gauges as well, along with the speed sending unit, the painless kit, and the Billet bezel insert from LMC to make it look much cleaner, i'll have my step by step and pictures on here soon.

Here's a link for the wiring kit.

Jegs - Painless Wiring Kit

Also, Here's the thread Kenm78 just did a week or 2 ago with his install...

Ken's Install Thread

Hope this helps you out, I know all the site's I linked here were a big help in making my decision, and will be a huge help with my install.

No problem, I just checked out your build thread, Awsome truck man, I didn't know you had the painless kit already. Looking forward to your feedback on it all and how easy it was to get in.

Re: Auto Meter guagesInstall & wiring diagram please ?

Hello, I just built a gauge cluster for my '69 Chevy and I hard wired everything. If you run into a snag just let me know as I may be able to help. I bought the Autometer speedometer and tach but I used gauges out of an old Peterbuilt for my bottom four. I know that if a couple of our members hadn't helped me I probably would have burnt my truck up, LOL. Here is a picture of some of the wiring.Name: gauge panel wiring.jpg

Re: Auto Meter guagesInstall & wiring diagram please ?

I used the factory harness and stole the feed for the lights etc. I used a harness connector so that everything is removable without having to cut wires on unbolt anything. Its not terribly hard to wire. It just gets time consuming making all the leads and putting the connectors on etc.

Everything came in today, hopefully get time tomorrow or the following day to start with it all.

Their new gauges look pretty bad ass at night too... the last pic is the only one I can find with them lit up, i'll have some of mine in a few days, i'll probably start a new thread of the whole install.
