cheapest thermostat for electric fans?

looking for a cheap way to add electric fans. i have a nice size fan and shroud from a 03 lincoln towncar thats almost a perfect fit that i want to use. is there a cheap thermostt that i can buy to control it that is dependable? and how easy is it to hook up? i mean where does the temp sensor actually go? do i have to tee it off the block some way with my original one? cus that would look pretty tacky hangin from the side of the block

Installing the sensor in the passengerside heads it the best place. I use a Painless Wiring sensor. You can find part numbers at their website. You can order the parts at your local parts store, www.jegs.com, www.summitracing.com or www.jcwhitney.com.

I run a 205 on and a 190 off sensor.

Re: cheapest thermostat for electric fans?

yeah im not tryna have to do that at all. im watchn the temp guage too much now. i havent got the rockers adjusted right yet. been lazy, its only like a mile to my job thru backstreets so no biggie. but i think that is the reason it s running hot. some i believe are too tight. but i want the electric fan, cleans up my engne compartment alot. already ditched the inner fenders, made a battery tray, and re-ran some wiring too. thats why i was concerned about placement of the sensor and such. i want a clean look but still wth a/c.

Mine is running off of a cheap little controller that is also adjustable, and it works well. It was like 35 bucks, I have the part number written down somewhere.

2800CFM self contained thermostat, no wires, thermo control is on the side for easy adjustment.......and it still gets too hot... i will have to take this off this summer.... winter here is an average of 50F, summer, 90F+
