Cleaned the dust off... took some photos...

Took the old truck out for a drive, first time in a month or so. Gave it a wash, figure I'd share the pics...

Also at the bottom is a picture of some original '78 Chevy goods I picked up...

Didn't really need any cleaning in here...

You can see the paint starting to fade in front of the left rear tail light... the first owner patched a minor rust spot there and didn't do the most spectacular job repainting it. You can see it looks a little flat, kind of like a "matte" or "satin" paint job. Aside from that, there are a few flecks of rust up in the cowl by the wipers, and some on the engine/manifolds, but that's it... trying to keep it that way. Stuff spreads like wildfire.

Future wife picked these up for me at a place that deals/collects antique automotive documents, books, manuals, brochures, and so on. From left to right - 78 Chevy Trucks Product Training (includes data/info on all '78 trucks) - 78 Chevy Trucks Paint Cards - 78 Chevy Trucks Dealership Brochure - all this stuff is original and it smells like mothballs and dust:

She's about to crest 26k miles... I'm just keeping her straight until I eventually restore it so that restoration is as simple as can be. In the interim, need to pick up some shocks so it is still driveable. The ones on there are finally shot... speed bumps make it just bounce and bounce and bounce and bounce and...

Looks great! Love the black on red. There are a few gorgeous ones on here in that combo. Thank you for sharing these pics.
