What are you dually guys running for rims?

Just wondering what you dually guys are doing for rims. I have been looking online for a couple days and can't seem to find any for this old of a truck. Someday down the road I would like to get rid of these split rims and bias ply tires on the motorhome. They don't have to be fancy by any means just fuctonal, anything is better than what its got.

Re: What are you dually guys running for rims?

I bought some 80's factory 16.5 steel rims that are one my C30 right now. Last year I bought a 75 one-ton that I am going to steal the brakes and the 16" steel rims from. I hope to get started on that project in a couple weeks.

So later year dually rims will bolt right up? Thats a relief I may be able to find some of those fairly easily. What all years will bolt up?

Re: What are you dually guys running for rims?

Yes sir, the dually rims are dually rims. Whatever you find will probably bolt up. I believe even Ford and Dodge use the same bolt pattern.
One issue is the size of the studs. The 67 will have 1/2", whereas the 73 and up use 9/16" studs. I used acorn nuts on mine, but when I change over to the newer brakes I will be using the newer 9/16" studs.
I bought my 75 one-ton dually for $400. That truck will supply me with 16" wheels and tires, front disc brakes, power steering and power brakes. Not bad for $400.

Re: What are you dually guys running for rims?

Thanks for the pointer sounds pretty cut, dry and simple. So I can either use later model rims and tapered lug nuts or just change out the studs. That makes it pretty simple. I was worried it was going to be a head ache. Sounds like you got a good deal goin on. I thought about looking for something to supply some front disks and power brakes but the ol gal accually stops quite well. Its geared so low you barley need to use brakes at all anyway. So I think I will let it be in that regaurd. I just want some rims that arnt split rims and radial tires that dont thump thump thump when you go down the road after sitting. There is a good chance I can find a set of 70s-80s rims for little of nothing if not free, then just buy some tires and Im set. Thanks again, this is the first dually I have owned so Im not fresh on my dually info.
