81-82 bumper fog lights
well i have been making progress on my truck and i finally got around to doing the adapting of the hid bulbs on my marker lamps in the bumper, it looks great in person, i just hope they dont melt the housings but you just have to take chances i guess.

Looks good. Now you just need to switch the headlights so the bottoms are on with the lights on the bumper. It'll look like your truck is REAL low at night

Nice idea. Have one of those bumpers stored in the shop. I like what you did with yours. Looks good.

Re: 81-82 bumper fog lights
I think if i was to put the lowbeam at the bottom it would be too close and i think would take away from the looks. i just think that if i would have just put regular bulbs it would of looked bad.

Re: 81-82 bumper fog lights
well for the headlights you just buy the h4 conversion housings. for the fogs/marker lights you have to make the hole a little bit bigger and epoxy the hid bulb onto the marker. once the epoxy dries put a bead of silicone all the way around the bulb. wire up a relay and a switch and your done. took me about an hour and a half, this is not counting the time waiting for the silicone and epoxy to dry, so its best you do it the day before.

Re: 81-82 bumper fog lights
Looks good man! Let us know if the stock light housings hold up to the heat. I have my set-up off my truck right now, didn't like the overall look. I'm really interested in how these hold up. I didn't think the plastic lens would take the heat of my lights (not HID). I will put these back on, once I figure out how to make them look better. David

Re: 81-82 bumper fog lights
A blast from the past..... I did not put the plastic factory turn signal housings in, I knew they would melt. Those lights put off a lot of heat. I found some mesh grill that I was going to put in, but ended up selling the truck and moving east. I think that set-up I had, would be great for most people. It just takes some triming of the outer bumper brackets and makeing a bracket to hold the light assemblies.
