Ailing fuel gauges
My truck like others is suffering from age. Both my gas tanks now ready way over the full mark when I put fuel in them. What is the common cause for this problem? I am thinking of changing out the guages. Another issue is the fuel tank selector. How many lines are going in and out of the tanke selector valve? 3 or 6? Do they have return lines? If I change the fuel guages in the tanks I might as well change the selector assembly. Anyone ever these parts from JC Whitney? They have both tank guages and tank selector valves relatively inexpensive.

I haven't installed it yet but I have a JC whitney auxilary fuel tank guage sender ready to go. It arrived while I was deer hunting. I was going to attempt to install it this weekend. I'll let the board know if it does or doesn't work.

Please let know of the guage works. The part number would be nice and the configuration of your fuel system too. I have a dual 16 gallon tanks on my truck. Let us know if you have any problems with the installation. ------------------ gchemist 1983 Custom Truck TX Plates: "BAD BOW" http://www.geocities.com/abetterchemist/ |

I installed the J.C. Whitney fuel gauge in my dealer installed "travel tank" in my 71 K10. The gauge is going to get mounted at the bottom of the dash next to a future tach and tranny temp gauge.
