I traded my truck today i just figured my pay cut at work 4 kids limited tools and a gang of rust wasnt in my budget for a daily driver so i had to let her go...

I got me a 72 Chevy C10 longbed with a 350 auto powersteering truck.
Only rust is what ya see the rockers driver door and one cab corner thats it floor is solid and under bed is solid has a new block in it a Jasper 350 in 2001 but this is a factory 350 truck.
Here is a pic when i got it and before the nigh was over here is what she looks like now...I got half the bumper cut off need to go buy new blades to get the rest done...

old 6 volt wiring
rusty cab corners
rockers
rocker supports
floor boards
no wood in bed
both fenders rotted
old points system
topped out at 60 mph

new truck has rockers rusted and driver door all under side is clean
updated brakes
updated wiring
01 350 with auto 350
powersteering
a metal bed
its a kick @ss bodystyle
and a way better daily driver imo ...

Back in '83 I had a one like that, white even. Mine had a 454 & th400, green interior. Got about 5 mpg working out of it in Az. Stupid fast to about 40 mph.

Loved that truck.

From the looks of things I don't think you traded up, but honestly its whatever makes you happy and keeps things cool on the home front.

Heck I was to buy a truck with the intent of pulling my Jeep or buying a boat. Now I'm looking to lower and keep the 6 cylinder. The wife just shakes her head when I tell people I need to buy another truck some day to pull my Jeep and if/when we buy a boat.

Just wait fellas. 816Allen will work his magic again. Just see what his other truck started out as. You would be suprised what he can do with a small amount of $ and time. Hes a true car nut. Ive seen it done by him too many times. He tried to sell the 65 but to much B.S. and bad economy sucked. When he says the positives of new truck out weigh that of the other hes not B.S.ing. So sit back and watch him work his magic in a short amount of time. Cant wait to see how this one turnes out.

Just keep in mind that you are posting on the 60-66 forum board so nobody should be surprised if the gang that hangs out here doesn't get enthusiastic about selling a 65 for a 72.

It's all good for you though 'cause I am betting most of the gang over there at the 67-72 forum board will like your 72 better than the 65.

And, for the record, I don't hate ya.

To be technically correct if we look at the forum list......EVERY catagory on this website is a sub-forum.

As others have said you gotta do what ya gotta do. When I was in my early 20s with a young family I had to sell some cars too 55 chev 3" chop and a 56 chev bb.Give it some time and you will be back into having cars or trucks that don,t have to be so practical. i/e In my 40s now rodding 38 chev and now working on my 64 stepside.
Your 72 will come up a treat best of luck

Thanks guys i love that old truck believe me i miss it too just not a good daily driver for me...Im glad he came by i kept telling him too.
And yes this truck is already half cleaned up cant see any rust marks now looks super clean did a exhaust system in the driveway the other day cost me 40 bucks sounds awsome!!!! and just scored a 02 suburban middle seat for it for 40 bucks

Also chopped off that bumper soon to be lowered a lil
