Holy Bat Poop, Cowman!
Okay...I joined a while ago and only have one post...what's wrong with me?!? In a nutshell, a lot. Actually, right after joining the board I learned that my dad had colon cancer so I took time to help him and my mother with whatever they needed and put most everything else aside. The good news is, one little operation followed by a few days stay in the hospital and dad is doing just fine. The only complication was that they could not find the curmudgeon gland so he's still an old turd.
At any rate, name is Mac and I am the second owner of a '52 3100 1/2 ton Deluxe Cab with the prettiest primer and rust paint job going! As I type this it's still in TX and I'm in MO trying to clear my garage enough to bring it home so I can start work on it. Soon... I have a wife and four kids and we all love God and hot rods! In fact, my youngest will be the owner of this one some day. We bought the oldest a '66 Mustang and the youngest daughter will be driving the '72 El Camino when it's her turn. the oldest daughter hasn't decided what she wants and I can't afford what my wife wants ('69 Boss 429 Mustang) so she settles for her mini-van! That's it. See you on the pages! Mac

You think that's cool! The interior is even better! I ought to just leave her the way she is and drive it around like Uncle Orvy did! Okay, maybe not.
No, I have lots of work ahead of me and the boy but, it should be fun watching it come together as he grows with it.

I don't know which way you are going with the build but maybe you should check out Levi's build thread... http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=329375 LockDoc

Re: Holy Bat Poop, Cowman!
If I were to follow the wife's advice this truck would go back to it's original form with its little six cylinder and leaf spring suspension just like Uncle Orvy had it delivered in '52. Yeah, well, being a child of the muscle car era, I made my point to her when I gave away the old 216 CID and Saginaw 3-speed.

i have driven stock-condition old trucks....trust me, while i believe everyone should get the chance to "experience" the white knuckle fear of almost making a corner or coming to a complete stop, there is a reason we have power steering and power brakes, improved electronics, and lumbar support
