I'll get some pics but Ive got a lil rust issue on my 72GMC 3/4 4x4.
The new bed is coming satrday, but I'm not sure what to do about the cab.
I use the truck as my daily driver so the least downtime the better. I was thinking of using patch panels to fix the rockers and body mounts and a section on the a pillar passenger side. but then a nice clean new cab sounds better but alot more work with switching out everything.
Ideas?
Opinions?
Tips?

Both ways have their advantages, repairing the existing rust is time consuming, frustrating and no matter how well you seem to look there is always more once you start removing panels (most of the time).

A new cab is a nice clean swap, but swapping everything takes time as well. If the rust was serious enough and you had a good line on a cab I would go that route. If you have decent welding/body skills its not that hard to replace panels but its not fun in my book.

So basically I just typed a bunch of nonsense that really doesn't help you out

, but I hope you get her fixed up.

if you found a nice clean cab for the right price id go that route its way easier switching out all the cab parts then doing the rust repairs. but make sure you check the new cab over very well befor buying i am in the same situation right now and i found a few "clean" cabs and after looking at them they were eithe hacked together buy someones crap body work or they had tons of soft spots in the rockers and floor and corners so you got to do it any way. so i decided that on mine im just gonna fix what i got so i know its right and i know that there no cover up and lies

Given your location (here in So Cal), I would search out another cab.

I myself was in the same situation? So i started shopping for cabs!! I live in bakersfield ca,i found a wrecking yard with a clean cab with a big window,you could clean it up and slap it on!! I didnt get it cause im looking for a small back window, and i gound one!! He asking $400.00 if your intrested send me a message!! Ray
