Some pictures of my new burb

I originally went looking for a burb as a donor for my new crew cab but ended up finding what I think was a smoking deal on an 85 that is already bagged and rust free. I think it's too nice to pull it apart so I'm selling/parting the crew cab and keeping this as a family cruiser. Once I get the valves, compressor taken care I'm going to remove the inner fender and add a rear shackle to get it down a couple more inches.

85 GMC
350cid + 0.060 over, tall pistons, 274 cam, Edelbrock intake/carb, headman headers, Accel Dist, etc) --

700-R4 tranny TCI kit - shift kit, B&M TV-Valve

3" magnaflow exhaust w/hi-flow cat - I'm going to swap for some 3/4 lenght headers real soon

Firestone 224c 1/2" port airbags (2600 lb); I'll be replacing the switch's, adding another tank, changing compressor, gauge etc...

Hellwig swaybar front and rear, alcan rear leaf springs, upgraded headlights (cant remember what), and I got a whole bunch of parts with it too.

Good deal, this will be a lot let costly and time consuming than the dually. Looks like all it needs is a paint job to be a really nice ride.

Haha, I love the Ooga horn, I had one on my truck when I was a teen-ager.

I've still got it in the shop, was debating on using it again

Thats exactly why the dually is getting sold, I'm just going to single stage paint this thing, change a little with the bags and daily drive it. Oh and if I can find some upholstery for the front seats that would be AWESOME !!!

Re: Some pictures of my new burb

Doing the same thing as you are cochino12. I have a 87' crew cab project that was going to make into a dually. Was not going to be a short term project. I have a 87' burb also that just needed less work to get it crusing. Got mine of off CL. Had a bad tranny. Also I traded some stock suspension parts for some drop parts on CL. I need to raise the rear of mine up some. If you are going to put on shackles you might need to pull that spare tire tub. I had to do that on mine, before my flip kit was installed, was not low enough. Its not fun.

Does the headlight assembly have a plastic shield in front of it? it's hard to tell but it looks like a reflection is coming off of it.

Thanks for the heads up! I wonder if it would be easier to just add a 1-2" block to the flip?

Thanks, the 2nd garage is VERY tight. Actually the blazer wouldnt even fit if it had mirrors on it but it is nice to keep the wife/kids from door dinging it

Adam, I don't know how I missed this...oh wait yes I do. I haven't gotten on just to browse lately. I still love it! Can't wait to see it in person. I still think you made the right choice on this. And...ummm, wanna trade me?

Adam, I don't think it would take much to clearance the spare tire tub. I bet you could retain most of it for a little storage area for air components or stereo stuff. That's just my guess.

I'll get someone to come with me next weekend so I can have an excuse to drive the burb and get your truck back to you. Trade? sure, I'll trade you a 76 CC dually you always wanted and all you need to do is get me the paint, and spray the blazer!! I'll even store it for you until you are ready to get it moving

What color do you want to do this bad boy? I have that 91 clip that would look killer on it. Want it?

Looks good Adam. It appears to have a single leaf in the rear. You should consider adding another one for safety sake.

I would really like a 91 gmc front but the theme on this burb is going to be cheap. For paint I figured I'd do the top dark blue, bottom white and go do it with the duplicolor stuff you can buy at the parts store? I'm really debating painting this before the blazer so I have something fun to drive, then I can wait a couple months to buy the trim, bumpers, tires and the other little details to make the blazer really nice.
