72 lwb single exhaust

Who sells an exhaust for lwb with coil springs? Looking for single, that can be bolted on, removed, ceramic coated, then re-installed. Any leads would be greatly appreciated ! Thanks

Re: 72 lwb single exhaust

I would think that it would be cheaper to have an exhaust made up locally and ship it off to have it coated.

I just had a quote done for my 72 rebuild, a single exhaust, and it was 340 to 360 depending on the tip I choose. That's from the ramhorns back.

I purchased a dual system from LMC which is a very nice exhaust but, I decided to go original and now want a bolt on single. The dual system was only $250 to my door, and I highly recommend it to anyone here!
I dont want the muffler shop welding on the frame, etc. I would have to be standing there with it, so I'd rather do it myself. It's that kind of build.
I have a shop locally to coat the exhaust, so that's not an issue. Thanks for the input for sure!

I actually called Walker, lady said she had nothing for the coil springs, or the 350. ???
Called my semi-local Napa, he had no listing at all.
I'll find a Autozone for sure, maybe they will have something!
O'Reilly has a "Y" pipe, no coil spring tail pipe. I may piece together a system...Thank you very much !

Re: 72 lwb single exhaust

I would rather install mine also.
I am suprised Walker said they didn't have anything. If you follow the walker link you can look it up , it shows all the part #s except a muffler for coil springs?

Here is also a link to Advanced auto parts, with Walker part #s

http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/web...t*Exhaust+Pipe

Good luck

Re: 72 lwb single exhaust

the main part of the exhaust system you need is the y pipe // i got one from carquest about 6years ago dont know if still available??

have you checked LMC catalogue the used to have the original single exhaust

sending out to get ceramic coated can cause fitment problems where the pipes slip together

I called LMC they have it for a big block and a 6 cyl. ???
O'Reilly has the Y pipe.
I am going to swell each of the joints a little before having it coated, maybe that will work...Thanks a bunch!
