292 l-6

Hey I have a 292 L-6 in my '67 c10 and was wondering if anyone knew of ways that I could get more power out of it. Thanks!

Re: 292 l-6

What are you looking for exactly? More speed, more torque??
A lot of these I-6 trucks have very low gears, so they are very torquey but have no top end at all. Your first step to get to where you want to be might be more drive train related.

Otherwise it's just like any other engine. Get the air into the motor and out of the motor more efficiently. Clifford makes some great parts for these engines.

The simple things are always the first to do. A complete tune up and an HEI is a must. I can't believe how much that woke up my 292.

Re: 292 l-6

Ok great! The 292s have tons of torque at low rpm's so primarily speed. I've been looking at Clifford and they have just what I'll need.

Thanks for the help!
