Gauge Bezel pix
Hey, guys. I'm at the point where I need to start building the interior of my 67. I bought the 5 gauge bezel, all black with no chrome ($8 from Brother's! Oh, yeah!) and now need to fill it with gauges. I've been looking at all the options and haven't decided what to go with; Autoguage, Equus (economy, but good reviews), shark, etc. I'm curious at to how everybody else built their's.
Anybody willing to post some pix? Thanx! I really dig these, though. http://www.egauges.com/vdo_grou.asp?Series=Silver_SLF With one question: Am I going to need to use the old metal backing plate from the original bezel? It is only set up for 3 gauges. I figure if nothing else I can fabricate something.

Re: Gauge Bezel pix
I am guessing, but it looks like he just cut the middle tin for the gauges and ran them without the factory lens. Trevor

Re: Gauge Bezel pix
The speedo and tach are 3-3/8" and are drop in. The vac gage in the center I opened the hole to fit and the 2-1/16 gages need opened some. I looked at larger speedo and tack but they go over the bezel and the rest wouldn't. They are still as big as the original instrument face. chevy71 is right I went without the gage cover lense.I went with electric since I put an MV3500 in and it has a VSS.

Re: Gauge Bezel pix
Well, I did some research and found that the Equus gauges got some good reviews from the euro car guys, but they may be a little inaccurate. That is fine with me. I bought the voltmeter, Water temp, and oil pressure gauges, all for $60. They seem a little cheap, but I think they will work for now, I'm not trying to win any shows! I will be purchasing the rest in a few days.
I know everybody likes photos, so I attached one!

Re: Gauge Bezel pix
Hey, those look pretty nice in there. The brushed aluminum trim goes good with the all black. They make a nice inexpensive guage cluster. How much less accurate can they be than 50 year old oem guages. LOL.

Re: Gauge Bezel pix
Picked up the fuel gauge and a 5" tach from my local auto parts store. Problem is, Equus doesn't make a 5" speedo. So I ordered the 5" mechanical speedometer from Autometer. Not a bad atlernative. As soon at it comes in, i will post a pic. The 5" gauges sit on the outside of the bezel, unlike the 2" bottom gauges, but that's all right. They look pretty nice, anyway. Now if only I can get the truck to go 160mph! That would put the speedo to work
![]() Just need a clock to finish off the bezel.
