I got this info from a member of Jolly's 60-66 BB. I could not believe the differance this will make on your old rust paint job good to know. When you open the link roll fown till you see the work being done on the elcamino.

I use CLR to clean the toilets (well water iron deposits) This tech. will give some of us a new lease on life for our faded and rusty paint until we can paint

This works great !!! I did this same process about 3-weeks ago on my 66 chevy 3/4 ton .. What a difference .. I just wish I would've taken pictures .. But when you have nice weather and that boost of energy , you jump in and forget .. next thing your done !!

Wow, we use CLR all the time never thought of anything like this. Unbelieveable results. Thanks for sharing the tip.

On useing CLR do you use it full strength? Water it down? Use CLR the rinse right away? Do you only leave it on for so long so it wont destroy good paint or does it matter? I guess Im looking for directions

I dunno, I guess I just like patina, because I like the "before" pics better than the "after" pics. Each to his own I guess.

I've not tried the method but somewherre in the thread where it was first posted, I bet it explaines it, I'll try to find out.

I've seen pics on the HAMB that shows very similar results...then some of those guys are spraying a matte clear over the new "clean" paint to preserve the look. I like it!
