Re: my 64 chevy its my dd
Good lookin truck!
Make sure you breakin that new cam properly and with a breakin additive to protect it. You'll also want to run an oil with enough ZDDP so that new cam doesn't go flat on you. Here's where you can find more info on oils.... http://www.67-72chevytrucks.com/vboa...d.php?t=381780

Re: my 64 chevy its my dd
I think it's spelled "pewter". It's a good color because it will go with just about any color on the outside.

Re: my 64 chevy its my dd
Cool story with a lot of history and a nice looking truck. I like the shot of you and your kid. That can be a moment you both treasure decades from now. On the pocket steps - I recently read a thread somewhere about them being rare and desirable, but I've also seen quite a few NOS units on eBay over the last few years going for almost nothing, or failing to obtain any bids.

Re: my 64 chevy its my dd
thanks mark! i had a guy to day at the gas station askin a thousand questions today (made the old lady mad) he wanted to buy the steps and the fuse box out of it(it has a fuse for the spot light) he offerd me 250.00 bucks. i kind had to laugh on the inside. half the joys of this truck is all the old men at the gas station. and there stories about when i was a young man and so on and so on, i just love it

Rebel:
Welcome to the forums from Kansas City, KS. I used to live in Joplin, so it was nice to see a member from Carthage, MO on here. Great story and lifelong memories for your and your son. My son is 2 years and 3 months, so he is not wrenching with me yet, but he goes to the shop with me. Everytime he sees a '60-'66 Chevy truck on my laptop screen, he says "dada's truck". Take care and keep us posted on your progress. |

I have these NOS versions on my truck. I even have the original boxes and templates. They don`t have the GM crest on them. HMMMMM...... E-Z Step eh.....

Re: my 64 chevy its my dd
Thank you, your steps are intriguing, I like to try and find who made the stuff for GM. Example the Compasses were made by Dinsmore, Speed control by Perfect Circle etc. So now E-Z Step eh....mine are cast quite similar. Do you have a step on the passenger side?

Does it look like the one attached to the rear view mirror bracket?

Re: my 64 chevy its my dd
There were multiple bumper suppliers and manufactures. I've seen that bumper style before.
