454to a TH350
Okay the truck had a 427 in it but it was a junk motor constructed from several motors and it was frozen up, the heads didn't even match each other. A guy wanted the block regardless and swapped me a 454 for the 427. The 454 is built up and dynoed at 450HP.
The question is what do I need to do to the TH350 to help it hold the 454? I would love to change it out to a 400 but I have the NP205 transfer case and every TH400 with a transfer case I have seen looks like it has the front shaft on the left side while my 73 has the front shaft on the right side. What is the best way to go?

It will end up with a nice strong 454 in the end. It has not been run for 20+ years Frame up restoration started2/15/2010 |

Re: 454to a TH350
I talked with my Trans guy today also. He said he could do a TH400 for me but the 350 would not handle my kind of HP. Looking at $1600 and that includes the Advance Adapter kit to mate my NP205 to a TH400.

Re: 454to a TH350
I'm running a TH350 in my 73 behind a 454 it does the job, but I also will be changing it to a TH400 for the added strength,
