Tires strait steering wheel crooked

Just wondering if there is an easy fix I remember older trucks had a set screw by the control box to adjust the play if I turn the steering wheel slightly each way. The tires don't move it's not off center alot . Its a 87 C 10 thanks Guys.

Pull the steering wheel and move it to the right spline alignment. OR Turn the steering wheel each way and find the center of the steering pooint and then take the tie rods adjusters and turn them equally in the direction that would make the steering wheel and the front wheels straight and matched. I have seen the second way done many times, after a shop has cone an alignment and got the steering wheel off a little.

Ok ill try that I was thinking should I bring the truck for an alignment first see if its out then see where the steering wheel is and fix it then.?

yeah, if your truck needs the alignment, then get that done first. and if u ask, they can probly even get the steering wheel close enough to the center, and then u can just pull off the steering wheel and move it a notch or two, to get the position you want.
i prefer to pull the steering wheel off and move it, to me thats much easier than messing with the tierod adjusters, cuz chances are that youll have to get back under there and move them more than once to get it centered...

Yea when I got the truck it was hit on the driver fender and bumper. I def think that had to do with it so I will get it aligned then adjust the wheel. I really don't wanna mess with the tie rods if I don't have to.

Tell the alignment tech that you want your steering wheel centered. He should be able to set the wheel straight, then do the adjustments from there.
