drop spindels & big brakes

Which drop spindals will allow you to upgrade to aftermarket big brakes,so you don't have to switch them out at a later date?

Re: drop spindels & big brakes

I am about to start working on my truck as well and researching some brake options...

The CPP modular drop spindles are nice and I want to get them, is there a way to bolt up c6 z06 calipers to them?

The spindles tuck the wheel in 1 1/8" inwards per side... this matches the rear track width... yuck.... i almost bought a pair untill i read that

They are 3/4" narrow per side. The other spindles will push the tire out into the fender. The CPP spindle will allow you to lower the truck more and you can drive with out rubing compared to the old wide spindle. We do have both types. In fact most of the people who buy the new narrow spindle already have the old wide spindle and are fed up with the tires rubbing the fenders are willing to buy replacement spindles, do the install, and get another wheel alignment.

I'm sharing because with the old spindles more often than not we hear complaints about the tire rubbing and they want to lower the truck more.

You can, and when youre done you will have the exact same thing as the new spindle, and an old set of front wheels. As long as youre going to buy new spindles, just buy the spindles that work and avoid buying another set of wheels.

Re: drop spindels & big brakes

i guess when i called, they only offered the ones that were tucked in 1 1/8 " more than factory... i was hell bent on one style of wheel that i didnt even buy at the time, but in the end i bought a wheel that i loved and had the same offset. its so close enough to the fender it cut the tire once comming out of a steep drive way. rolled the fenders and havent heard a peep from the front. me personally, i strongly dislike the tucked in wheel look.

Re: drop spindels & big brakes

Im gonna get the CPP spindles, allows you to run a deeper wheel(less backspacing) which looks better to me. I also like the idea of 13" rotors but Im not too excited about the OEM style caliper they use in their kit.

Danny, Ive got a CPP catalog(#15) and it says that the 14" kit was gonna be available late 09, any news on that? Also, would you guys sell the parts for the kit seperately(e.g. just the spindles, hubs and rotors w/o the calipers or hoses)?

Re: drop spindels & big brakes

When I put my stock diameter rotor on my CPP modular drop spindle, the back of the rotor was hitting the spindle. Some light grinding took care of it.
