Re: I have a question bout my 2000 s-10

if you are leaving the cat on it probably won't be to hondaish. Without the cat it probably is going to sound like a dirt bike.
Edit: You really only need to post one time. the s10 section does not see as much traffic as the other sections, so it may take a day or two to get an answer, but we do try to help out.

If you remove the cat and O2 sensors without any computer tuning, the engine is going to run badly. If you just take out the cat and leave the O2 sensors, you will have a check engine light on all the time, but there probably will not be a change in performance. I would leave the cat and O2s, head down to the local muffler shop and ask them what will give you a good rumble and not be obnoxious or look for some sound clips. Here is a youtube link:

Re: I have a question bout my 2000 s-10

removing the cat will totally screw up the way it runs. the EGR system needs backpressure, not enough and the engine will end up with a major bog under cruise and possibly burn a piston or 6. the SES (light) will be on therefor leaving the ECM in open loop so your fuel mileage will suffer and wash the rings ending up with an oil burner.
in short, do your mods after the cat and down stream O2 sensor.
